FACILITIES AND ACCESS
A small kitchen area with a fridge is available for light use. Renters running workshops are responsible for providing their own refreshments, cups and serving items. The kitchen must be left clean and all leftover food and drink removed at the end of the booking.
Please note that the toilet is on the first floor and is reached via a spiral staircase. There is no step-free access to the toilet. Prospective renters are encouraged to discuss any access requirements with us before booking so that we can consider whether suitable arrangements can be made.
The renter is responsible for staffing the shop throughout the agreed public opening hours, taking payments and managing their own stock and customers.
A 50% payment confirms the booking. The remaining balance and a refundable £150 security deposit are due 14 days before the rental begins.
Renters will need suitable public liability insurance. The space must be left clean, secure and ready for normal use at the end of the booking.
Activities involving food, alcohol, music or ticketed events, except workshops, need to be discussed in advance.
Dates are subject to availability and suitability. Full rental terms will be supplied before a booking is confirmed.
To discuss an idea or arrange a visit, please contact Chintz & Wood with a brief description of your plans and preferred dates.

TAKING PART IN A CHINTZ & WOOD EVENT
Chintz & Wood holds occasional exhibitions, seasonal openings and specially curated selling events, including Christmas. We invite selected makers and independent brands whose work fits well with the shop, the theme of the event and the other pieces being shown.
HOW IT WORKS
Work is supplied on a sale-or-return basis. You retain ownership of your pieces until they are sold.
Chintz & Wood takes a 30% commission from the final selling price. The maker receives the remaining 70%.
For example, if an item sells for £100:
Maker receives: £70
Chintz & Wood commission: £30
The commission covers display, selling, ordinary card-processing costs, customer service and inclusion in the event.
PAYMENT AND UNSOLD WORK
We will send you a sales summary and pay the amount due within 14 days after the event ends.
Unsold work must also be collected within 14 days of the end of the event, at an agreed time.
SUPPLYING YOUR WORK
Makers provide an agreed stock list showing each item, quantity and retail price. Work should arrive ready to display and sell, with suitable packaging, labelling, care instructions and any necessary safety information.
Prices should normally be consistent with those used on your own website and at other retailers. We will not discount your work without discussing it with you first.
Chintz & Wood decides how pieces are arranged and displayed across the shop. We may photograph the work and use the maker’s name, biography and approved images to promote the event.
Participation is confirmed once the selection, dates, delivery arrangements and full maker terms have been agreed.
